Welcome to ‘Little Why?’ These Terms of Use explain the rules for using ‘Little Why?’, including our mobile application, content, features, and related services.
By using ‘Little Why?’, you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, please do not use the app.
‘Little Why?’ is provided by the individual developer listed for ‘Little Why?’ in the Apple App Store. In these Terms, ‘Little Why?’, ‘we’, ‘us’, and ‘our’ refer to the provider of the app.
1. Who May Use ‘Little Why?’
‘Little Why?’ is designed for parents, guardians, and caregivers who want help answering children’s questions in simple, warm, age-appropriate language.
The app is intended to be used by adults. Children should use ‘Little Why?’ only with the involvement and supervision of a parent, guardian, or caregiver.
By using the app, you confirm that you are at least 18 years old, or that you are using the app with permission and supervision from a parent or legal guardian.
2. Parent and Caregiver Responsibility
‘Little Why?’ can help explain topics in child-friendly language, but it does not replace your judgment as a parent, guardian, caregiver, teacher, doctor, or other professional.
You are responsible for deciding whether any answer, explanation, follow-up question, activity, or suggestion is appropriate for your child’s age, maturity, situation, and family values.
You should review answers before sharing them with a child, especially for sensitive or serious topics.
3. Educational and Informational Use Only
‘Little Why?’ provides content for general educational, informational, and family conversation purposes.
The app does not provide professional advice, including medical, legal, psychological, financial, safety, or emergency advice.
For serious, sensitive, medical, legal, safety, or emergency questions, you should contact a qualified professional or emergency services.
4. AI-Generated Content
Some answers and content in ‘Little Why?’ may be generated using artificial intelligence.
AI-generated content may occasionally be incomplete, inaccurate, inappropriate, outdated, or unsuitable for a specific child or situation. We try to make answers simple, warm, and age-aware, but we cannot guarantee that every answer will be perfect or appropriate for every family.
You should not rely on ‘Little Why?’ as your only source of information for important decisions.
5. Sensitive Topics
Children may ask difficult questions. ‘Little Why?’ may try to provide gentle, age-appropriate explanations, but some topics require special care from a parent, guardian, or qualified professional.
You agree not to rely on the app as the only source for topics involving health, death, violence, abuse, sexuality, religion, family conflict, trauma, mental health, safety, emergencies, or other sensitive issues.
We may limit, refuse, or modify responses to certain questions to help keep the experience safer and more age-appropriate.
6. Your Questions and Content
You may type questions or other text into ‘Little Why?’ You are responsible for the content you submit.
You agree not to submit content that is illegal, harmful, abusive, sexually explicit, violent, hateful, invasive of another person’s privacy, or otherwise inappropriate.
You should not submit personal information about a child or another person unless it is necessary and appropriate.

Children’s privacy is important. Our collection, use, and handling of information is described in our Privacy Policy.

Apps in Apple’s Kids Category and apps that collect or share personal information from minors must follow additional privacy requirements, including applicable children’s privacy laws. Apple’s guidelines also restrict third-party analytics, advertising, and transmission of children’s personally identifiable or device information in Kids Category apps.

9. Subscriptions and Payments
Some features of ‘Little Why?’ may require a paid subscription or in-app purchase.
Payments, renewals, cancellations, and refunds may be handled by Apple through your Apple App Store account. Your purchase may also be subject to Apple’s own terms and policies.
Unless otherwise stated, subscriptions automatically renew until canceled. You can manage or cancel your subscription through your Apple account settings.
We do not control Apple’s billing, cancellation, or refund process.
10. Acceptable Use
You agree not to:
- Use ‘Little Why?’ for illegal, harmful, abusive, or unsafe purposes.
- Attempt to reverse engineer, copy, modify, or interfere with the app.
- Use automated systems to access the app in a way that may overload or harm our services.
- Submit content that violates another person’s rights or privacy.
- Use the app to generate harmful, explicit, hateful, abusive, or unsafe content.
- Misrepresent the app’s answers as professional advice.
11. Intellectual Property
‘Little Why?’, including its design, features, text, graphics, logos, software, and other materials, is owned by the provider of ‘Little Why?’ or licensed to the provider of Little Why, unless otherwise stated.
You may use ‘Little Why?’ only for personal, non-commercial use unless we give you written permission.
You may not copy, sell, distribute, modify, reverse engineer, or create derivative works based on ‘Little Why?’ except as allowed by law.
12. Feedback
If you send us ideas, suggestions, bug reports, or other feedback, you agree that we may use them to improve ‘Little Why?’ without restriction or compensation to you.
13. Third-Party Services
‘Little Why?’ may use third-party services to help provide features such as artificial intelligence responses, app hosting, subscriptions, crash reporting, or customer support.

14. App Store Terms
If you downloaded ‘Little Why?’ from the Apple App Store, your use of the app is also subject to Apple’s applicable terms, rules, and policies.
Apple is not responsible for the app or its content except as required by Apple’s own terms or applicable law.
15. No Warranty
‘Little Why?’ is provided “as is” and “as available.”
We do not guarantee that the app will always be accurate, available, secure, uninterrupted, error-free, or suitable for every child or situation.
We do not guarantee that any answer will be correct, complete, or appropriate for your child.
16. Limitation of Liability
To the maximum extent allowed by law, ‘Little Why?’ and its provider will not be liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, exemplary, or punitive damages, or for loss of data, profits, goodwill, or other intangible losses.
To the maximum extent allowed by law, our total liability for any claim related to Little Why will not exceed the amount you paid for the app or subscription in the 12 months before the claim, or $100, whichever is greater.
Some jurisdictions do not allow certain limitations of liability, so some of these limitations may not apply to you.
17. Termination
You may stop using ‘Little Why?’ at any time.
We may suspend or terminate access to the app if you violate these Terms, create risk for us or others, or use the app in a harmful, unlawful, or inappropriate way.
18. Changes to the App or Terms
We may update ‘Little Why?’ or these Terms from time to time.
If we make material changes, we may notify you through the app, by email, or by another reasonable method.
Your continued use of ‘Little Why?’ after changes become effective means you accept the updated Terms.
19. Governing Law
These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of Washington, United States, without regard to conflict of law rules.
Any disputes related to these Terms or ‘Little Why?’ will be handled in the courts located in Washington, unless applicable law requires otherwise.
